Across Japan, country houses are quietly slipping into silence. One by one, we light them again — turning each into a place that discerning travelers from around the world long to visit. A small light, then another. Gathered together, they rekindle local economies and the pride a place once held in itself.
We carefully restore houses that have fallen out of use, and turn them into singular places to be shared with the people you choose. Drawing on decades of work across architecture, design, and hospitality, we keep building places where the story of a land and the memory of its people meet.

Every HOTAL. property is designed end to end — architecture, interior, signage, brand — by our sister company Synosys Design Inc. Two decades of work on hospitality, retail, and brand spaces in Japan and abroad sustain the quality of each single house.
One team holds both design and operation. That is how we keep HOTAL.'s houses coherent down to the smallest detail.
